The well attended general meeting of club members on Monday 30th April spent two hours discussing and debating the plan for the upgrading of the present facilities and the development of further amenities before endorsing the proposal by a substantial majority. Current chairman, Brian Hegarty and secretary, Sean Donnelly have, over the past two years, worked diligently and efficiently on behalf of the club’s development committee to formulate the plan and acquire approval for much of its detail from various local voluntary and public statutory bodies. The attendance was unanimous in accepting the developmental aspect of the plan but there were some varied opinions on the proposals for funding. Thanks to the governors of St. Joseph’s Primary School for the use of the school hall and to Mr. Kirk (principal) for his attendance and interest in the plan and its exciting possibilities for future generations of the children and young people of the parish.
