Sunday afternoon’s first game of this year’s Fermanagh Herald Division
2 Senior Football League lived up to all the expectations of a close,
keenly fought local derby with neighbouring Irvinestown at St.Joseph’s
Park. The match was decided in the final minutes when the visitors
scored the decisive goal in a break away attack to win by two points

Dwayne Mc Alynn for Paul Gallogley. Although they were defeated the team and management will
hope to carry the spirit and commitment of this performance into the
next encounter which takes place in Roslea on Friday evening at 7.30pm.
Players are asked to assemble in Ederney at 5.30 on Friday.
On Saturday evening the Erne Cup team recorded another victory,
defeating Belnaleck at St. Joseph’s Park on a score line of 1-12 to 1-6.
Leading by 1-6 to 0-3 at half time the home team continued to dominate
in the second half and eventually led by 1-12 to 0-3. This team travel
to Kinawley on Saturday evening to play the local Brian Borus.
The minors lost their unbeaten status to Derrygonnelly last week so they
will be keen to return to winning ways against Derrylin O’Connell’s on
Wednesday evening in St. Joseph’s Park.
Apologies are extended to the u16 girls for the absence of information
in this column about their league endeavours over the past five weeks.
On Thursday evening they travel to Garrison to play Devenish in the
final game in Section 2 of the U16 League. Meanwhile the u14 girls are
preparing for the commencement of their competitive action on May 19th.
The adult footballers and co-ordinator, Damien Cassidy were complimented
at Thursday’s club executive committee meeting on the success of their
recent club fund raising initiative.
Paul Gallogley has been appointed to process and monitor all insurance
claims arising from playing injuries.
Ryan Mc Menamin and Nathan Cassidy are current members of the Fermanagh
U15 Development Squad.
